     The holidays are over and St. Patrick’s Day is only a few weeks away. Spring can’t be far behind. The St. Patrick”s Day parade is March 16th. Line up is at 12th and Liberty and we will start to line up at 9:00. A party will follow at the Sokol Club on Carson Street. We hope to see you there as it’s our day for the “wearin of the green”.

     Lou Smith is working on the golf outing for this year. It will be held at the Murrysville Golf Club on August 16, 2019. His Committee needs help with prizes, hole sponsorships and assistance the day of the outing. Contact him at 412-373-0284.

     The winners of the Emerald Society Scholarships were Patrick Skeba and Alexander Skeba, grandsons of Tom Woods; and Donovan Schuler, son of Eric Schuler. Please be aware that the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies also has scholarships. The applicant must be a child of an active member in good standing of their local Emerald Society. The applications for the National are due by May 1st. The link to the National application is on our web site gppes.org under schloarship.

Election for one Trustee will be held at the February meeting. Candidates are Tom Woods and John Daley. Only Active members are eligible to vote. Kim Sweeney and I would like to thank the membership for electing us  Treasurer and President.
